Feeling better

So fast is tue, 1 more day to go be4 holiday yeh!!!

Mm today i am feeling better. Actually last evening was already more sober so spent time doing house cleaning. Didn't cook last night, so we went to compass point to have dinner. Both of us wanted something light as stomach not well. Dear dear had his fav porridge while i had fishball noodle. Wow compass point was crowded on weekdays too. Guess most couples don't cook. Didn't really walk ard as tired but alot of sale going on.

During dinner, dear dear was recalling that our kpo dog was sneaking his head thru his arm while dear dear was throwing up (to join in the "fun") and mummy kept telling boy boy not to do that as daddy was sick. Hee so funny, didn't expect him to remember that ;p Indeed, it was so so funny scene. Life really more joyous with our silly, kpo toby ard.

Mm later need to do ironing. Lots of them. Last week not feeling well so some catching up to do. Mm don't know tonight will be cooking or not as dear dear may be out for dinner as one of his colleagues is leaving tech. Farewell dinner tonight and tomorrow. But not sure if dear dear will go for both. Hopefully not as it involves drinking again. May not be gd for his health.

On ya wednesday night has a gathering with my ex-singtel colleagues. So so long never see them. Really miss them. Yet at the same time, miss dear dear also. If he has nothing on tomorrow, really can't bear to leave him alone at home. I know i silly girl but that's me. I tend to forgo a lot of things for the things i cherish. ---- Sharing my personal view---- I know in current world, it seems irrationale, even my mil in law will always tell me "not to wear the same pants with hubby". But to me, this is not being dependent on somebody but rather enjoying life and going thru ups and downs with your loved ones. If both are independent, then one becomes dispensable. Just like my parents and my pil, though they stay under one roof, it seems that they are living a separate life. If one feels bored or hv complains, they will just go out and find friends to talk to or bury in work or other commitments, they never seems to turn to the partner to talk.

Always remind myself of "no longer two but one". Dear dear will always ask me then wldn't one be overly dependent on the other party? My response is no. Husband & wife each hv their role and responsibilities, in these defined areas they shld excercise their autonomy (if not then is too dependent) but in the area of love and care, they shld depend on each other for love and comfort. At the end of the day, pple around you may go in different directions, even your kids will grow up and leave you, and you only left with God and your partner who will walk next to you for the rest of your life. So must always cherish them. Becos the couple now share one heartbeat. Mm hope i can better explain my thoughts hee

Mars vs Venus

Today is the last episode of Mars vs Venus. Hee really nice and meaning show. Talking abt relationships and marriage. At the end of the show, it said "When hair is short, it can grow back. But when love is lost, it hard to get back. Cherish a happy marriage and not to take it for granted". Indeed, its a gentle reminder not to take marriage for granted. Especially, when we spend so much time together, we begin to be "so used" to each other, gestures of love and care slowly vanish into the thin air. Mm must cherish my loved ones.

Oh ya dear dear's sis called and said she'll be hospitalised tonight. She is overdue for 6 days and doc advised not to go beyond that. Hence, she will be induced tonight. Prayerfully, by tomorrow morning 6-7am, she'll be in labour. Her doc said she may be in labour for 12 hrs. She prayed that it'll be shorter. Its really not easy to be a mother, the price one needs to pay. Dear dear was sharing his sis must be fearful as she hardly called him unless its smthg bothering her. I assured her that it'll be fine. By tomorrow, we'll be able to see our new born nephew brendon ;)

Thu is vesak day and i asked dear dear if he can take leave on fri so that it'll be a long weekend for us. Maybe can go for a short getaway. But there is bs this sat at our place. So still on discussion mode, whether he can and will take leave on fri and whether shld we getaway. But in any case, also ok hee. Got public holiday, already very happy.

Hangover

Its been a week that i last updated my blog. So fast weekend has passed. I really enjoy fri, sat & sun ;) Hee this thu is vesak day, public holiday, yahoo ;)

This weekend is filled with activities, really fun but draining i must say hee. No stamina already. Last fri, dear dear had vendor treat, good food again. So good life. Tis time round his vendor brought them to Jap bbq at chijmes. Mm sound nice. So for me, i went over to my mum's place for dinner hee ;) At around 10 plus, he came to fetch me and we bought my fav bbq wings at toa payoh market for supper. Headed home and spent time with Toby.

Hee on sat, we thought of visiting Judy & chris and there we went ;) Glad to see baileys was doing fine. Enjoyed BM's company. And baby Adrielle sleeping soundly. Me, i chit chat with Judy. Hee with her, simply can talk abt anything and everything. I always tell dear dear, that sometimes, we just need to hv the same freq friends to share openly. Somehow, with my insurance friend, i can't. Tend to reserve a bit, mm somehow just feel the freq not right lo.

Thereaft, we went to Suntec to do our grocery shopping and window shop. It was really packed! Thank god, judy & baby AN weren't there. Why? Becos, there is midnight shopping at the mall. And i suddenly remember that its the start of Great s'pore sale and many places are trying out midnight shopping, even neighbour mall like compass pt). That explains the crowd. While window shopping, we bumped into Eliz (Pam's sis) & winston. She was also complaining abt the crowd. Just like dear dear, so the topic of 6.5mil population started rolling again. Ya, i have to agree just within these 2 years, i can sense the diff when visiting malls, even the neighbour ones, somehow don't know where these pple come fr.

After we parted, we headed for an early dinner. And there is a NEW food republic at suntec in a WEIRD location. The walkway connecting the exhibition hall and the shopping mall. The one near Giodiano. Its so creepy and the seats were limited. But the setting was interesting, old english, vintage, nostalgic. Luckily, we managed to find a seat and we had the famous hokkien mee and prawn noodle. But i must say the one at wisma still taste the best! The suntec one rated the lowest.

After a fulfilling meal, we headed to our grocery shopping. As usual, dear dear bought wine to drink with friends & colleagues. This time round he bought france wine, but not as nice as the australian ones even though i just had a sip or 2. And bcos, of that, we managed to hv a $100 bill. With a $100 bill, you can buy something for $1. Between 8-9pm, was kettle for $1 but we don't need that so we waited for 15mins for the 9-10pm offer, which was a support pillow for $1 (UP $19.90). When we felt the pillow, its not that gd, i mean not worth $19.90. maybe $10 the most. Hee we still get it as only $1 and i need a new pillow ;) While waiting, I bought durian roll fr angie's the choice hee ;p

Once we reached hm, unpacked and had the durian roll. Mm delicious. And we cut kiwi to eat. We bought golden kiwi, they were really really sweet. Must try. So much better than the green ones, the green ones are too sour for my taste bud. So we rested and played with toby. Dear dear some reading while i played with our dearest boy hee ;) Mm reached midnight, we both got hungry as we had an early dinner. So we drove to Jalan Kayu for roti prata. I liked the pratas there, less oily = less sinful hee. Mm sweet dreams.

Sun, we woke up real late. 10 plus. Toby woke us up. Our dear boy has the habit of waking us or me at 10am, by jumping up the bed or licking our legs. Or simply walking into our rm and makig noise (now that he has th green card to enter the rm while we were in it. Silly but loving boy.

Oh ya, as we will be having social bbq with his colleagues and vendors, we went to my pil's place early with toby. Dropped toby at pil's place be4 we had brunch at chong pang hawker centre. I missed the days at rowdy hawker center so i asked dear dear if we can go there eventhough it was hot i must say. Just miss the feeling and walking ard the wet market looking at fishes, fruits etc.

After that, he took me down memory lane. We went to sembawang area, where he used to lived during his younger days. Now its flat land. He showed me the drain where he caught fishes. And he was jokingly saying that be4 he dies, he will visit this place again. Ya some things are just so memorable. I was also sharing with him that we had been together for more than 10 years already, so used to each other and the companionship. We must continue to stick together till old age.

Evening came, and we headed to the bbq at clearwater condo. His colleagues and vendors were friendly. In total, 5 couples plus their children. The hostress really cooked very well! (This inspires me to continue to sharpen my cooking skills) She prepared baileys cream puff and it was delicious. And best mee siam i tasted so far! And the kids were really fun and disciplined. They played in the pool non stop. They really full of energy! Me, i tried to socialise with the wives hee. Mm must be sociable to give dear dear some face hee. And i think i did a not too bad job. I started a few conversations hee.

As night fell, the drinking began. These guys can really drink!!! I never seen such gd drinkers in my life. Just one night 5 couples, drank 10 bottles of wine. Imagine, we ladies were light drinkers, so techically speaking each man drank 2 bottles of red wine!!! Can't imagine. I didn't want to drink but the dear dear's working associate invited me to try some so cannot turn down. I tried and started to feel hot. But ok. Then, he started to pour more, hee half cup lah, to me a lot already ;p. So i drank but cheated a bit ha ha. A bit dizzy but still ok. One of the wives can really drink, she drank a few glasses!! Wow amazing! Overall, it was a very nice evening, listening to them talking & joking around. And most importantly, by dear dear's side, meeting the pple he mixed with. Now can attached pics to the pple he shared wth me.

Mm now abt my dear dear, given that he drank 2 bottles, he really "down". He vomitted aft reaching hm. So i attended to him, rubbing ointmt on him and our sweet toby, sitting near to daddy while he was vomitting into the toilet bowl. So so funny, the whole family in the toilet ;) On the way back hm, he was sharing that sometimes it is not easy to reject the drink offer. Now i can understand why, his vendor will keep "encouraging" you to drink. But i still reminded him to be careful as he has a family at home, a cute toby and a loving wife at home ha ha.

And i also learn that it is really a plus if i can drive. I can better attend to him.

Mm a long post today. And i am still tired despite sleeping till 11am today. The power of wine. And dear dear at work now. Still hvg headache. Hope he can come hm early to rest.

Today is a long long day

So fast and today is Sat and yesterday was Fri. Silly opening right? ha ha hee ;p

These few days dear dear had been working late as there was a huge excursion (pblm in output) that caused a $1.6m loss (wow amazing! in a day's time). So yesterday we had a very late dinner as dear dear knocked off at close to 10pm. We headed to nearby Hougang for a quick dinner and we had "zu chao". We ordered veg, honey pork rib and hot plate bean curb. Really tasty and reasonable. The portions were huge! Mm satisfying meal. Thereaft, headed for home as dear dear needed to work tomorrow morning. For me, i was tired too fr household chores but i slept at 2am as i wanted to watch the shows that I recorded hee ;)

Morning came and dear dear went to work. Left toby and me at home. I watched tv and played with toby. At the same time, waiting for Ryan to come to deliver Toby's food (supposed to be yest but i postponed it). He came and shared that his biz is expanding (gd for him) and soon will be getting more data abt Toby like breed, date of birth etc. Hee he was sharing maybe in future he will give Toby birthday gift. Mmm gd customer retention strategy! ;) He also suggested that i start giving Toby supplement esp glucosamine. I agreed and it has been my plan to start giving him supplement when he reached 2yrs. Didn't want to give him any when he was young. Wanna let his body build up on his own first then external help. Now its time ;)

At noon, finally dear dear was back! I had craving for changi nasi lemak and there we went! Mm nice but the queue was long!! Hee i also had coconut drink ;p

Subsequently, we secretly went to visit Rolex. It was really a mix feeling seeing him. Happy becos he had grown up, a handsome boy, very nice and defined coat. Sad becos he was chained at the front poach, guessed the family might be out as didn't see their car. Just sad to see him chained up, given he is already 3 this year. We called out his name discreetly, he saw us and we'll so so happy. Dear dear also felt very glad to see him and that he responded. But dunno if Rolex had forgotten abt us?? We left aft a while, scared we might alarm the neighbour as we were roaming ard, peeking and calling out to Rolex. In the car, i cldn't help to cry as just felt really bad to hv given him away. If only i had more time for him then. We were sharing that if rolex still with us, he might be more affectionate than Toby as he simply cldn't leave my sight even during bedtime. When scolded, Toby wld go to sofa to sleep but Rolex wldn't. He was willing to risk and take the chance, simply for the opportunity to sleep next to me in the bedrm, or simply can see me fr a dist then he cld fall asleep. Though he is now not with me, he'll always be in my memory.

Went hm took a short rest and headed for fellowship at phillip's hse. Mm was said to be 3pm, we reached at 3.20pm or so and we were still the 1st to arrive. Just wish that we can cherish time and schedule. Chenjun, richard, charis, isaiah, shirlene & frankie came. Dan & pam didn't join us as they need to choose the kitchen tiles for the reno.

We left at 5pm. Go hm and change. Dear dear has wedding dinner tonight while i need to go to my cousin's baby 1mth birthday. They stay in jurong west, really a super far place! Dear dear drove me there and we had a hard time finding the place. He intended to join me for a short while but we got lost in this foreign place so can't in the end. My sis spent 1hr to reach destination! Enjoyed seeing newborn baby hee and catching up with my relatives.

My sis & sil sent my mum, nephew, my gu ma and me back hm. On the way hm, gu ma shared that we need to take life easy "shui pian" so that we will hv "fu". I agree, in life when we enjoy the simplicity of life, be contented, many things will become a blessing and we will hv a grateful and joyful heart. I really enjoyed today ;) I really missed seeing my gu ma, my uncle, those who i lived with and saw everyday during my younger days. May they find the meaning of life one day.

What's wrong with the weather

What's wrong with the weather??? So so so hot today and it adds more "favor" to my headache! Really so so hot, keep perspiring. Today, I simply do nothing but rest on the sofa as it is very hot and the headache is disturbing. Try to catch a nap but don't work ;(

Evening went over to my mum's place for dinner. Her place is much more windy than punggol...aiyo why like that?! But comparatively, night time is better than noon, though still hot la. One day rain, one day hot...like the aunties said "can easily fall sick". Mm got to drink more water.

Oh ya, went to causeway pt to hitch a ride fr dear dear. I was there early so can go shop around. Wanna get a short (mm still don't like to wear jeans for bermudas, so hot, not airy enough) as the denim one is fading and paiseh to wear everytime but so hard to find and so exp!! Went to Jn little, thought maybe can find something nice and cheap but a short cost $49!! Went to ness and worse, costs $51 a pair. Crazy price. Its either i am really out of touch or they are really overly priced! Just find not worth of the material and design. Ok will continue to look out. Maybe need to go to town, far east plaze shld hv more choices. But again to go out under this "superb" weather is challenging.

Chatting Session

Dear dear came home and told me that we were be going to his colleague's hm for chit chat session. The last 2 times they came over and we go over to one of his colleagues' house. Hee the 2 colleagues stay in punggol too so is rather convenient.

Before that we had dinner and dear dear gave me a 9/10 and i was thrilled. He said that he can save fr going to restaurant :) It was a sweet compliment though i knew i am still far fr restaurant's standard. Here's the pic.

Aft dinner, we head to Alvin's place. As usual, drank red wine (the guys not me) and chit chat abt work (as dear dear shared to me most of the time abt work, so i can understand what they are talking abt and who they are talking abt). I enjoyed the time (hee as long as meeting pple)!

Just reached hm and now updating blog while dear dear spent time with toby.

Its dinner time

Okie now got time to update my blog hee..while waiting for dear dear to come hm, he said he'll be late and waiting for 7pm show to start and finished preparing dinner..so here i am during the 5 mins window period

Hee today i prepared grilled fish (top with salsa sauce), veg & mashed potato for dinner. Western food today as yest is chinese, the day be4 italian. Frankly i do enjoy cooking as it really kills time, grocery shopping, preparation work and actual cooking at take up to 2-3 hrs hee. Personal aim is to be able to cut short the timing hee.

Why i blog leh. Becos i prepared mashed potato! Very happy lo ;) Silly right? But i always thought its troublesome and difficult to make and i am not keen to buy the ready pack ones. In fact, its super easy! Potatoes, cream, salt & butter, that's it! (can put pepper & parsley if you want). Alamak take so long to want to try ;) Hee i also vain, try to make salsa sauce. Mmm not too bad, ha ha can eat at least. But my hand itchy go and put tomato sauce to add colour but wrong move ;p Luckily got lemon juice to cover the taste hee. Like dear dear said, i always "draw snake add bamboo". Good is good, no need perfect ;) Ok just can pass gd enough

Busy Week

Wow this week has been rather busy. Leave with little time to update post.

Mm lets start with last Sat. Had bs at our place. As usual, all were late. The latest being at 4pm given bs supposed to start at 2.30. Supposed to hv bs but chenjun didn't know we were following the bk (he prepared smthg else) so it was postponed to next meeting. Instead we had fellowship at the dining table. We snacked and updated each other. Hee also drank red wine. Dear dear & dan's fav!! Everybody was well, nothing outstanding. Thereaft, we went for dinner. We had fish soup at tampines (phillip brought us there) but the one at balestier still the best hee ;p

Sun early morning went Mcd for breakfast. After that, shift some furniture ard hee ;) Play ps and as usual went to mil's place for dinner. She cooked sharkfin!! (fr CNY in freezer)

Mon & yesterday, busy with hsehold chores. Never ending chores. Sweeping, clean plants (yes indoor plants need to be cleaned if not has pests...aiyo), ironing, laundry, changed bed sheet, cook dinner etc. Right hand really so numb and tired. How i wish i know how to use the left hand!! And really getting old, easily got backache. The legs also very tired, need to raise my legs. These 2 days have been comtemplating to jog to lose some weight as i feel my tummy and thighs growing but really so tired. Scare faint half way. Mm shld jog when dear dear is ard. So at hm try to do abs excercise but hee only do few times then lazy ;p

Later meeting my insurance friend for chit chat. I guess she just wanna tell me more as to why i am rejected for insurance. mmm..

Oh ya, realised the dv recorder is gd hee!! I now record the 7pm, 9pm & 10pm show and watched during day time to kill time. Also during these time slots, i may be busy with cooking or spending time with dear dear & toby downstairs strolling. It becomes a practice (try to) to go down together. Why becos to let Toby relieve himself (he enjoys going down) and most importantly it is like oven at home!!! These few days hv been super super hot!! We switch on aircon almost everyday!! Bill going to be high this mth. Also, gd to judge as we never on aircon for so many days.

Ok now need to go do grocery for tonight. Feel like cooking fish tonight hmm

Night Out

Change of plan. Today we go dating instead of going to my mum's place for dinner. Mum was very tired fr work too. I encouraged her to change to simpler job and she said she is on a look out too.

Wait for dear dear to come home while i spend time dolling myself up hee. I put on make up. Here's the pics (but i took aft i reached hm, so makeup kind of faded, and also gone). Forget to take be4 we left hm and while we were out. paiseh, too many pple ard). Hee i put one earring only. As usual, face a bit shiny. Got "guang" ha ha.

We went to Raffles city for dinner. But be4 that dear dear was on a long long ph call with his big boss and i walked ard window shopping. Round and round. Looked at hair pdts, accessories, food, clothes, make up etc, anything and everything at B1 till he called me.

Finally dinner time and that was at 9 plus! He was on the ph for half an hr or so and bad traffic while on the way there (and back too!!!) Really cannot go town! Dear dear had ribeye while i had duck leg. His was nice while mine no no no. Its salty and it doesn't taste like duck, too dry ;( but i enjoy the mashed potato, really tasty. I sneaked to take a quick pic of it w/o flash hee.

Thereaft, we came across an ice cream parlon. Ice cream using milk for hokkaido!! So tempting at 1st sight. Despite we were full, we still bought a small cup. What flavour? My fav Green tea and + Red bean. Ultimate combination!! Taste very smooth. Must try ok. I took a pic of it. I simply luv the colour. The pic not very nice as we were on the way hm and again the traffic was bad. So many cars broke down along the way.

On the way, we listened to Steph Sun songs. Really nice! We especially luv the song "Sky black black". The lyrics so meaning and rhymn very nice. When i reflected on the lyrics, can really comprehend what the writer is really to express. Thru the up and downs in relnships, one realise that the old folks' teachings is really true despite it doesn't make sense at that pt in time. Hee we replay the songs for 3-4 times till we reached hm hee.

Reached hm!!! So glad to see toby. Spend time ....removing makeup..mm the minus of dolling up ;(..and here i m updating my blog and the end of it ;) Good nite, sweet dreams. Thk God.

Venue changed

Its end of the week again. Not as excited as be4, dunno why. Maybe becos we ve changed our dating night to parents' night. Tonight going to my mum's place for dinner. It's all the while Thu & sun but dear dear said that Thu is a bit tight for him as he has to prepare for weekly report on Thu. Suggested other days but he can't too. Mm will discuss on this again.

Labour Day

Yesterday was labour day and there was no labour for dear dear & I. Basically we took things rather slowly. The night before we slept at close to 4am. Dear dear playing with ps2 while toby and i were watching him play hee. I enjoyed watching then playing as my hands are retarded hee. Surprisingly dear dear allowed toby on bed ;) and i am really glad as i wanna spend time with both of them. If i am in the living rm, i can't be with dear dear; and i am in the rm, i can't be with toby. So that was a nice compromise! And toby is good boy, only when the 2 of us are in the rm then he dare to come in. Even if i am in the rm, he doesn't dare to come in. He somehow knows that he needs daddy's approval. He kept looking at daddy while daddy was playing. So sweet. In no time, he fell asleep.

We woke up late and we had simple breakfast at hm then we continue to laze at hm as gd weather. I watched tv as there was a movie marathon while dear dear needed to check on his wk briefly on his laptop.

Thereafter in the late afternoon, we brought Toby to pet movers for dog run. I guess he hasn't socialise much (besides blackie & BM), he's kind of lone ranger there. BUT he being a grown up man is easliy attracted to the ladies hee ;p Daddy was very protective over boy boy when he saw huskies ard as well as golden retrievers. I had to tell him not to worry as we were watching Toby every sec. For me, i wanna encourage Toby to socialise with other smaller dogs and build up his confidence and not so timid and withdrew. But eventually, we decided to end the day as more big dogs join (esp when we saw Jordan, the giant poodle and pinscher who like to chase aft small dogs and toby is really scare of them previously)

Brought toby back hm, clean up and we head to hougand mall for dinner ;) No cooking as holiday hee ;) And dear dear bought 2 durians to eat. This time was so much nicer!!! We were saying tt next time, we'll get fr this stall and not any other. Mm for me too much durian (despite i only took 4 - 5 pieces only), i feel headache and heaty now. Need to drink water but i really enjoy them. I am not a fan but the taste of it is nice. Sweet & bitter at the same time. Best of both world. Also, mum encourage me to eat durian as its "pu". Indeed, it is hee ;)
